Groups

Create an Affinity Group

Select a current event or issue that you believe is problematic for you, your community, your country, and/or your world. Create a Google Group for this problem using the new Google Groups. Do some research on Google Search, Scholar and YouTube and find some information about potential ideas to solve or mitigate the issue.

In your group, start a conversation about your topic and present what you believe is the best solution to your problem (or the top 2-3 you believe would be useful in helping to fix the issue). Provide links to websites, articles and videos. Cite at least 2 sources in your conversation.

Set up your group so that:
  • anyone on the web can search for and see your group
  • anyone can ask to join
  • anyone on the web can view conversations
  • only group members can comment
  • only group members can see group members
Give your group an appropriate name and description.

Create a blog post about your group and in your post do the following:
  1. Explain what your topic is about and why it's important to you.
  2. Insert a screenshot of your group's conversation home page (the main URL to your group where you can view all conversations in your group).
  3. Provide a link to your group so that other people can see your conversations and ask to join.
Then comment below with the link to your blog post AND tell us what problem you chose to research for your group.
