Create a Classroom and Become a Teacher!

For this project, you will create a new class using Google Classroom. The topic you teach should be personal to you and something you are passionate about. Once you've selected a topic, research it using Google Search AND Google Scholar. You should have at least 3 references from each. 

 

Once you've done some research create a classroom topic for each of the following:

1. Create a Welcome Tour on YouTube
2. Create a Google Slides Presentation
3. Create a Google Forms Quiz

In order to complete this project, please make sure you do the following:

1. Create a new Google classroom using either your personal or HCC Google account. 
2. Create a topic for your research interest and give it a relevant name. 
3. Create a new course material page where you introduce your topic to someone who has never heard of it before. Put the page under the topic for your app. 
4. Ask a question to get people talking about your topic. Think of something that is often misunderstood about your topic or something that you just learned yourself. 
5. Create a presentation that teaches people about what you know about your topic. Include citations for all referenced articles, books and websites on the last slide. 
6. Create a quiz assignment with at least 10 questions using Google Forms to test students' understanding of the presentation. Your questions should really test if the person paid attention.  Provide both correct and incorrect feedback for each question. Set all questions to 10 points.
7. Turn on grade importing so that you can import the grade from the quiz into Classroom. 
8. Create a 60-second Welcome Tour video for your students using a Chrome extension and in your video, explain what your classroom is about, what students will learn, and ask a question from the quiz to make people curious. 
9. At the end of your video, show your classroom code so that people can join your classroom after watching the video. Demonstrate how they can join your class. 
10. Upload your video to YouTube and add an end screen to your video with a link to a playlist of 3 good YouTube videos about your topic (not done by you).
